Adulting offers lots of distractions to keep us there, such as clinging to hollow successes and socially acceptable numbing; or conforming to the consensual indifference, that this is “just the way things are.” Alternatively, we let the Shift hit the fan, decide we’re leaving the parking lot and heading to the playground, hollering…“F&ck being stuck!” We are the only thing stopping us from jumping over the fence, onto the playground, and into the game. The game of finding us and living from there.
